The charming village of Coningsby, lying with the Wolds on one side and the Fens on the other, is overseen by the impressive tower of St Michael's Church.  Its unique one handed clock face, dating from 17th century, lays claim to be the largest working version of the "antique one handed" type still in existence measuring a massive 16 feet in diameter.   Coningsby is situated on the A153 approximately 20 miles south east of Lincoln on the banks of the River Bain (Horncastle Canal).   Although a rural farming community the largest employer in the area is the Royal Air Force.  This peaceful village is also home to the famous Battle of Britain Memorial Flight .    The population according to the 2001 Census was 3238.

The majority of children aged between 5 and 11 attend St Michael's School in the village.  St Michael's School is one of the very few in the country observing the Selective Education Policy.  Once reaching 11 the pupils may take the  11+ exam and transfer to either Gartree School at Tattershall or the Queen Elizabeth Grammar School in Horncastle.

Coningsby  enjoys the privilege of having a free car parking system with access to male, female and disabled toilet facilities.  The Police Station is also based in the Car Park along with the Town Council Office.  The Town Council Office is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday 10am  to  4pm.

Coningsby Town Council consists of eleven councillors.  These include a Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Retiring Chairman.

The Town Council is then divided up into smaller "working parties" with individual responsibilities.  Following a meeting of any  "working party" a representative gives a report and any recommendations  at the next Town Council Meeting and if necessary the Town Council as a whole undertakes to vote on any proposals made.  It is the majority decision of the whole Council which goes forward.   The Mayor has the deciding  vote if required.

The Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Retiring Chairman will participate in all  "working parties"

The Town Council are Trustees for Coningsby Helping Hands, a local charity which provides extra medical equipment for the people of Coningsby.
